An healthy lifestyle choice
Was recomended to me by English friends but was not available here in Australia. The net provided! Found Montignac required my faith to get results. I followed his method and my weight dropped by 4 kgs. in 6 weeks. A lapse in concentration saw my weight begin to climb so adjustments were made. But it is my lifestyle choice. One must attack the pantry and dump all those things that we have always known were bad news. Else ways life will continue on its course of weight struggles and diets.

Giving the man a chance, I found his eating regimes were sustainable as well as the foods to eat interesting and tasty. I now not only eat differently, but eat less, albiet more frequently. I am inspired to persist with resisting the temptations of the junk food industry although I do allow lapses into the mire for social reasons from time to time. Montignac's methods are well supported by my readings on the subject for the past few decades, and presented in a very easily followed book.

Again, it is a life style choice, I am very impressed with the results so far. It is not a diet for a week or whatever, it is a method for life.

easy to read, easy to understand. A book with all the ingredients to take a new approach to changing your eating habits. The facts are well presented and give you the sense that are not exagereted or underestemated. Also have consist information regarding your health. You really don't need to starve yourself for losing weight.
 
Interesting, but not believable...
I read other reviews of this that were good, so I read it. I thought this book was a good "devil's advocate" book on nutrition and weight loss, but nothing more. The foods are not ones you have in your house every day for many of the recipies. Therefore, it's not a good plan to follow for most people.

I think there is some truth to the weight gains being caused by increased insulin levels from sugars, as the book stresses, but I don't think it is the answer for the majority.

The book opposes typical reduced calorie theories that have been long held as truths and I agreed with many of his points in the book. HOWEVER, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone seriously trying to lose weight. I think the only way is through exercise and portion modification.

This book was highly recommend to me from a colleague who lost 35 pounds in 3 months. I was very sceptical and doubtfull about this diet. I am 38 years old with 40 pounds of extra baggage. I have lost 12 pounds in the first two weeks without radically changing my eating habits. I have to entertain clients often and this was the biggest challenge of the whole thing for which advice is also given. I never suffer from hunger feelings and feel great.

I must say that this Method is by far the most effective plan overall for me. I am most grateful...Mr. Montignac has found the key (low glycemic carbs) that gave me great fat loss success where on other programs I met with only moderate success. This is a way of eating I can follow for life! It has worked for me in spite of the fact that I have eaten a little more good fat than is recommended and I do make sure I eat some form of protein with every meal (like cottage cheese with the carb based breakfast or dinner just like the Method recommends.) I do not have cravings, and am satisfied throughout the day (rarely getting hungry before 4 hours or so between meals) and have loads of energy, even at 4:00pm. I am a 42 year old mom who loves to cook and is short on time, with a diagnosed underactive thyroid. Diana Schwarzbein's book and her cookbooks are great companions for me for the Method,(her thoughts on fats in the diet have been of great help to me, too) but I always have to use low glycemic carbs in order for the program to work for me, just as Mr. Montignac has said.
